Domino’s turns Minecraft into six collectible pizza boxes

Domino’s has found a fitting canvas for its latest gaming collaboration: a rectangular personal pizza that looks right at home in Minecraft’s block-built universe. The fast-food chain is turning its Domino pizza into a collectible experience, complete with six character-themed boxes and digital rewards.

Announced October 21 and launching October 26, the collaboration with Minecraft Dungeons II connects packaging, loyalty incentives and game-night rituals. The visual centerpiece is a series of pizza boxes featuring characters from the game.

In this article: The six box designs, digital rewards, and what the product-led crossover means for marketers.

Six boxes turn a pizza order into a collectible

Customers ordering a Domino can receive one of six Minecraft Dungeons II boxes, featuring Corrupted Creeper, Prime Enchanter, Valorie, Zombie, Pig or Creeper. The designs are distributed while supplies last, giving a routine meal a collectible dimension.

The packaging works because the food itself supports the idea. Introduced in August, the Domino is a made-for-one, Detroit-style pizza cut into two rectangular blocks. That geometry creates a visual connection with Minecraft without requiring Domino’s to reinvent its core product.

Rewards extend the design into the game

For Domino’s Rewards members, qualifying online purchases can unlock one of three randomly awarded in-game items: a Domino’s avatar skin, a Slice Slayer cape or a Cheesy Cube Pet companion. The company describes the pet as the game’s first co-branded partnership pet.

Customers also have a chance to receive one of 20,000 digital game codes, with 2,000 available daily from October 26 through November 4 through a qualifying purchase and proof-of-purchase submission. The U.S. rewards promotion has separate terms and runs through January 10, 2027.

Packaging, creators and tracking complete the crossover

Domino’s is supporting the collaboration with VFX creator content from Merrick Hanna, Daphne Le, JoshVFX and the Macfarlane Brothers. The Macfarlane Brothers also appear in a 15-second television spot. A themed interactive order tracker is planned for a later launch.

The wider campaign spans 19 international markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Australia, with participation and timing varying by country. That distinction matters: not every customer will receive the same offer.

What marketers can learn from Domino’s block-shaped pizza

The strongest part of this collaboration is the product fit. Domino’s did not simply print a gaming character on a box. It paired a rectangular pizza with a world famous for its blocks, then built a series of connected physical and digital experiences around that shape.

Collectible packaging makes the product visible beyond the meal, while in-game rewards give customers a reason to connect their purchase with a loyalty account. Whether the activation lifts sales or retention remains to be seen; no campaign performance figures have been disclosed.
