Salesforce launches Agentforce with Google Cloud integration
Salesforce and Google Cloud are expanding their partnership with the launch of Agentforce, enabling AI-driven collaboration across Salesforce Customer 360 and Google Workspace apps.
Salesforce, a popular CRM platform, has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to introduce Agentforce—AI agents that facilitate secure, seamless collaboration across Salesforce Customer 360 and Google Workspace apps such as Gmail, Docs, and Slides.
Salesforce is a leading customer relationship management (CRM) software, known for its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help businesses manage and analyze customer interactions and data. Salesforce’s AI agent, Agentforce, extends these capabilities by acting as a virtual assistant that automates tasks, enhances productivity, and bridges communication across integrated platforms.
With the launch of Agentforce, businesses can deploy AI agents to automate processes, make data-driven decisions, and interact with users across various applications within Salesforce Customer 360 and Google Workspace.
For instance, the Agentforce Sales Development Representative (SDR) Agent can engage with prospects around the clock, responding to inquiries, addressing objections, and scheduling meetings using data from both CRM and external sources. Leveraging new capabilities provided by Agentforce, customers can now use Google Workspace actions that enable the SDR Agent to generate Google Slides and Docs from templates.
Additionally, contextual information from Gmail and Docs can be securely integrated into Salesforce, facilitating actions such as saving a signed contract in Salesforce and generating a win-loss report in Docs to close an opportunity. These enhancements are supported by robust privacy and user data protections inherent to both Salesforce and Google Workspace.
“We’re creating the world’s first agent ecosystem together with partners like Google Cloud,” said Brian Landsman, EVP, global technology partners, Salesforce. “Humans work across many systems to get work done, and to be effective, agents need to as well. Together, Salesforce and Google Cloud are delivering a fully AI-infused productivity suite.”
“This partnership brings together platforms where millions of people get work done every day,” added Stephen Orban, VP, partnerships at Google Cloud. “Salesforce’s Agentforce platform will help customers apply Google Cloud AI to real-world use cases, like business development, ecommerce, and much more — with enterprise-grade trust and accuracy.”
Alternatives to Agentforce
Slack has introduced its own version of AI-powered features that integrate with Salesforce CRM, allowing users to interact with CRM data directly within Slack channels. This includes the ability to update records, draft emails using natural language processing, and automate workflows. Slack also supports third-party AI agents through partnerships with platforms like Adobe Express, Cohere, and Asana.
PlayAI is another strong alternative, especially for industries like real estate. It offers AI-driven features such as chatbots for customer support, SMS integration, real-time analytics, and automated follow-ups. PlayAI stands out for its quick deployment and user-friendly interface, allowing businesses to build and train AI agents in minutes. It also supports integration with platforms like LinkedIn and Microsoft for marketing automation. This makes it a suitable choice for businesses looking for a more customizable and scalable AI agent solution compared to Agentforce.
While primarily known for its sales CRM capabilities, Pipedrive has started incorporating AI features like lead scoring and sales forecasting. Although it doesn't offer the same depth of AI-driven workflows as Agentforce, it remains a user-friendly option for small to mid-sized businesses focusing on sales automation.
Monday.com offers robust project management and workflow automation capabilities. While it doesn’t focus solely on AI agents, its automation features allow for task management and streamlined processes, which can serve as an alternative for teams looking to automate repetitive tasks without the need for complex AI agents.
